[edit] Project Manager Barry Kingscote claims prestigious CIOB CMYA Award
The coveted crown of Chartered Institute of Building’s (CIOB) Construction Manager of the Year has been scooped up by Barry Kingscote of Galliford Try.
Barry fended off competition from more than 85 finalists across 13 different categories to claim the top gong following his project to develop a unique office space directly adjacent to one of London’s most prestigious landmarks – Marble Arch.
He described the project as the most complex of his construction career – spanning more than 40 years. The completed build provides 57,000 square feet of contemporary office space across seven floors.
Speaking after picking up his award, Barry, who also claimed top prize in the Construction Manager, Commercial category, said he was delighted to be recognised while paying tribute to the team which supported him. He added: "I can't put the feeling into words. To go against all these fantastic managers in so many fields and to come out on top is just so surprising. It's an honour and I would like to congratulate everyone who has been recognised."
Finalists gathered alongside scores of spectators at a glittering, black-tie award ceremony as they eagerly awaited.
